Which is an odd thing to lead with, and it is the point. Every directory in this market fills itself from whatever it can scrape. This one publishes the standard first and the entries second, so you can judge the list by how it was built rather than by how long it is.

Not because nobody is out there. Because we have not finished checking anybody against the standard below, and a directory that lists people it has not checked is worse than no directory at all.
Four things a listing has to sit inside. A trade that cannot place itself in all four is applying to the wrong board.

They are a ceiling on a perfect day's worth of conditions, not a promise about anybody's wall, and a trade quoting them at you as a forecast has failed check 02.
All five, or no listing. There is no partial pass and no paid shortcut.
Company number or a trading address we can verify, and a phone number that is answered. Sounds obvious. It removes most of what a scraped directory would contain.
A short conversation. If somebody cannot tell us what happened on 27 August 2026, thinks a timber balcony is covered by the permitted development conditions, or cannot name the operator of the licence area they work in, they are not going on a list we publish.
Fitting an outdoor socket and replacing a circuit's overcurrent protection device are electrician work under the specification. A listing states what the trade is registered to do and with whom.
A retailer listing here has to say which devices it sells that are on the ENA Type Test Register. We will not list a seller whose answer to that is a shrug.
Verification goes stale. Every entry shows when it was last confirmed and is dropped when that date gets too old to mean anything.
No listing fee, no featured placement, no commission on work that comes through it. A directory that takes money from the people it ranks is an advertising board with a directory font, and there are enough of those.
One form, four kinds of person. Trades go into the queue for checking, householders go on to a list and hear once.
